J. Joseph McQuillan
Joe grew up in Hastings, Nebraska and attended Creighton University in Omaha for both his undergraduate and legal education, which he completed in 1970.He served two years in the United States Army, assigned to the Judge Advocate General Corps in Fort Ord, California, before returning to Omaha in 1972. Joe has focused his practice in the area of trial work for the past 35 years. Initially, he tried many criminal cases, including many jury trials involving serious felony charges. He transitioned his practice to civil trial work and has concentrated in that area, particularly in the area of insurance defense for over 25 years. He has tried an estimated 200 jury cases to verdict in numerous courts in Iowa and Nebraska, including both state and federal court. Joe was appointed to the City of Omaha Personnel Board where he served as a member and as its President. He has been active in his church, serving on the Parish Counsel, including a term as its President. He was appointed as a member of the Parish Soccer Board where he served for 5 years, including a period of time as its President. He has also participated as a speaker at numerous professional seminars involving areas of interest to trial practitioners.
